About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

A Challenger Appears!

To mix things up a bit I have decided to replay the 2008/09 English Premiership season using The Beautiful Game, available at www.owzatgames.com.

Whereas Cricket World is a 4/5/6 game, TBG is a 5/6 game meaning that action will occur on a roll of a five or six. All teams have a home attack and defense, as well as away attack and defense ratings. The home attack is added to the away defense, and vice-versa, to give you the playing cards for the match. Red for home and black for away.

There are two rows of cards in stacks of nine: Half-Chances and Chances. You roll two D6 until the green die comes up five (half-chance) or six (chance) and the number on the white die is which stack to look at. You roll both dice again and consult the chart on the card. If a goal is scored you roll a D10 + D6 to see who the goalscorer is; a red card means you add two cards for the opposing team. Whatever the result on the green die you count down through the pack and discard it; looking at it if it is a five or six.

Lastly there is timing. Before the match starts the total number of cards is divided by 45, you round it up, and this is how many timing cards you use. When a major event (goal, red card) takes place you count through the cards ALREADY discarded.

Example: A green 6 and a white 2 are rolled, I count down six cards, look at it, it is red, so a chance for the home side. Another roll totals 9 anda goal is scored! The d10 + d6 are rolled for a 0 + 4 to tell me who scored. I count through the five cards already there in five minute increments (there were five timing cards), turn over the timing card (2) and note that the goal came in the 27th minute.
