About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1898/99 (S7), Game 2: South Australia vs New South Wales

Adelaide Oval -

16th-17th, 19th-22nd December 1898

Lineups:
South Australia - JJ Lyons, J Darling, C Hill, G Giffen, JC Reedman, A Jarvis, HGW Chinner, E Jones, AE Evans, J McKenzie, V Hugo

First Innings

South Australia once again open up at the crease, but this time through their own choosing on the coin toss. A very impressive start upon a slightly bowler-friendly pitch was soon undone as SA barely made it into a second day after enjoying a score of 224-2.

SA 298

JJ Lyons 101; J Darling 57; C Hill 54
LW Pye 3-52; WP Howell 3-93

A stunning reply, lasting the best part of two days, saw NSW surge into pole position.

SA 298
NSW 444

LA Pye 151; SE Gregory 63; VT Trumper 55; JJ Kelly 55
E Jones 4-121

Second Innings

New South Wales couldn't take advantage of their lead and would have to battle a South Australian attack of an increasingly degraded pitch in order to win.

SA 298 + 359
NSW 444

J Darling 114; AE Evans 61*; E Jones 52
WP Howell 4-88; LW Pye 3-89

A ferocious start had NSW scrambling at 36-4, but a partnership of 97 (FA Iredale + VT Trumper) was able to steady the ship just enough to take victory.

SA 298 + 359
NSW 444 + 214-8

FA Iredale 62
E Jones 4-60; G Giffen 4-66

New South Wales wins by two wickets
