About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1898/99 (S7), Game 6: New South Wales vs Victoria

New South Wales 10/12 vs Victoria 12/15

Sydey Cricket Ground

26th-28th, 30th-31st January 1899

Lineups:
New South Wales - SE Gregory, AL Newell, MA Noble, FA Iredale, H Donnan, ACK Mackenzie, VT Trumper, LW Pye, JJ Kelly, TR McKibbin, WP Howell

Victoria - CE McLeod, FJ Laver, J Worrall, JF Giller, H Graham, JH Stuckey, TS Warne, W Bruce, H Trumble, SA McMichael, AE Johns

First Innings

Inconsistencies at the crease saw New South Wales to score as highly as they might on a good pitch. It took a tremendous last wicket stand to get above 200, let alone 300.

NSW 324

TR McKibbin 92*; MA Noble 77; WP Howell 44
JF Giller 3-43; CE McLeod 3-94

With the first Victorian wicket not falling until 107 runs were on the board, the visitors showed the class that had near dominated the competition this year.

NSW 324
VIC 373

JH Stuckey 112; CE McLeod 63; H Graham 58; FJ Laver 52
WP Howell 5-115

Second Innings

A more rounded performance in the second inning failed to match their first innings total, and that left Victoria with a very attainable score.

NSW 324 + 318
VIC 373

VT Trumper 69; FA Iredale 52
FJ Laver 3-64; CE McLeod 3-86

A pair of fast wickets at the start, and again later on, did little to stop the champions sweeping the season.

NSW 324 + 318
VIC 373 + 270-5

J Worrall 104; JF Giller 66; JH Stuckey 62*
MA Noble 3-75

Victoria wins by five wickets and are the 1898/99 Sheffield Shield Champions!!!
