COMMERCE, Ga. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 29th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals:

The brothers meet for the first time in 2009 and the race was ultimately decided at the start when Cruz had trouble getting away upto the tree, leaving Tony to take the win.

Robert Hight has four victories in his last five races now after a tight contest saw Mike Neff just unable to comeback from a small distance.

It is the fourth time these two have raced against each other and the season series is tied at 2-2. Getting away together things suddenly went wrong for Ron Capps as he passed the tree, allowing Matt Hagan to move into the semi-finals.

Tim Wilkerson makes it two wins out of two against Gilbertson as he edged away enough early on to take the line.

Another rematch going back to the first event for Tim Wilkerson, and the same result. A very close contest had Tony Pedragon reach his fifth final in six events.

A seventh consecutive race win for Matt Hagan came almost by chance as calamity struck the car of Robert Hight, but the race winner had put some distance between them beforehand.

Both men reported some minor issues with their cars in post-race interviews, but they still managed to put on a good race. Tony Pedragon has now won twice against Matt Hagan, and four of five finals this season.
