About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1904/05 (S13), Game 4: Victoria vs South Australia

Victoria 10/11 vs South Australia 10/12
Melbourne Cricket Ground
31st December 1904, 2nd-5th January 1905

Lineups:
Victoria- FJ Laver, PA McAlister, CE McLeod, WW Armstrong, WJ Scott, W Carkeek, VS Ranford, HJ Fry, RM Osborne, FB Collins, JV Saunders

South Australia- DRA Gehrs, FT Hack, C Hill, J Darling, N Claxton, CB Jennings, JH Pellew, PM Newland, JC Reedman, JPF Travers, PH Coombe

First Innings
A demolition for the South Australian bowlers saw Victoria lose four straight wickets midway through the order for no additional runs. A final wicket stand on thirty-four improved things slightly, but it was advantage away side.

VIC 170
WW Armstrong 45
N Claxton 3-28; FT Hack 3-31

A couple of decent partnerships allowed South Australia to take a lead, but when one wicket fell another would usually follow immediately after to slow down their rhythm. With the pitch turning in favour of the bowlers, it would be up to what the can do with ball in hand.

VIC 170
SA 209
FT Hack 52
FJ Laver 4-38; FB Collins 3-42

Second Innings
Despite a crumbling wicket, South Australia were unable to make any headway until there were nearly three-hundred  runs on the board when JC Reedman finally bowled out PA McAlister. It was still tough going for the bowling attack, and that opening partnership could be the difference.

VIC 170 + 450
SA 209
FJ Laver 155; PA McAlister 123; VS Ranford 61
JC Reedman 6-115; PH Coombe 3-24

It was good, and it was close, but South Australia fell just short of victory as the middle order failed to get the respectable scores they were picked for, while the bottom of the lineup were unable to pick up the slack.

VIC 170 + 450
SA 209 + 375
PM Newland 89; J  Darling 88
WW Armstrong 4-88; FB Collins 3-84

Victoria wins by thirty-six runs
