Victoria 10/13 vs New South Wales 11/15
Melbourne Cricket Ground
26th-28th. 30th-31st December 1901
Lineups:
Victoria- CE McLeod, W Carlton, PA McAlister, JH Stuckey, WW Armstrong, J Worrall, H Trumble, FJ Laver, SA McMichael, TJ Hastings, JV Saunders
New South Wales- VT Trumper, JJ Kelly, MA Noble, CW Gregory, SE Gregory, RA Duff, FA Iredale, AJY Hopkins, WP Howell, GRC Clarke, A McBeath
First Innings
A string of half-centuries to go with the century mark of MA Noble put New South Wales into pole position as they batted patiently through almost two whole days.
NSW 458
MA Noble 105; CW Gregory 80; AJY Hopkins 59; SE Gregory 58; FA Iredale 50
JV Saunders 3-77; CE McLeod 3-94; H Trumble 3-132
The Victorian reply was weak and lacked composure as they were all out less than twenty-four hours after walking to the crease. Only a late surge got them past the 200-point, but they were nowhere near avoiding the follow-on.
NSW 458
VIC 210
SA McMichael 54
MA Noble 4-53; A McBeath 3-38; GRC Clarke 3-49
Second Innings
Fighting through a rough start, and battling back from 27-4 on the follow on, Victoria pulled it together just enough to make New South Wales bat again, but the result was certainly decided by now.
NSW 458
VIC 210 + 284
WW Armstrong 89
WP Howell 3-78; MA Noble 3-91
A brilliant piece of fielding meant that New South Wales would not go unscathed, but it was easy for them to go through the motions and win handsomely.
NSW 458 + 37-1
VIC 210 + 284
JJ Kelly 18*; MA Noble 10*
FJ Laver 1-21
New South Wales wins by nine wickets
This blog is to share results in my sports replay gaming. All of the games involve pencil, paper, cards and dice; no digital gaming here. Most games are full season replays, but there will also be some fictional competitions thrown in. It's been a while, but I hope that 2017 sees a return of blog activity.

- I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris
