Detroit ran riot over the Kings with Howe (7) scoring twice to help the Wings win their first outing in six; the last four being losses. Oakland continued to struggle with the Blackhawks the latest side to beat up on them; Wharram (4) had the gamwinner and Mikita (7) scored twice to take Chicago to an unbeatn fun of four games; the Seals have lost six straight.

Sutherland (3) scored his first game wining goal and Angotti (8pts) assisted twice to push the Flyers over Montreal whose only goal came from Duff (3). The Canadians are still searching for their first road win (0-5-0)
