Indy Nationals - Speedway, IN
Consolation Heat
Sam Harbin, Jamie Eilers, Jess Yates, Ben Hadsell, Ricky Grimes, Charlie Clayton, Dick Garrett, Scott Hutchins, John McCrory, Will Murphy, Bambi Rogers, Timmy Barnes
A quick dash for the last three final places started with Charlie Clayton (7th Frostbite) missing out on a fourth final of the year due to eight hits against in less than three minutes, Ricky Grimes laying a hat-trick on him, and Bambi Rogers continues to search for a way into her first ever final after taking four hits.
After helping to dismiss Clayton it was Jess Yates (8th Arizona, 7th Jersey) who became the focus of multiple drivers to take him out in tenth place, and Jamie Eilers, runner-up of both the Frostbite and Ides of March events, is now hanging on to his top ten position in the championship standings after a stall saw him counted out.
Ben Hadsell struck three of the four drivers who were already eliminated, Eilers the one who got away, but the champion of the Frostbite Winter Nationals will not make it three finals in a row (10th Big Apple, 9th Lobster), John McCrory delivering the final blow. Then both eight-time finalist Will Murphy and Timmy Barnes (12th Spring Fling, 4th Big Apple Smash Up) were ejected as the former lost a fight with Ricky Grimes, and Barnes battled with Sam Harbin before Scott Hutchins and Dick Garrett came at him.
Harbin (2nd Arizona), the final qualifier from heat three and five-time finalist, lost a head-on collision with Dick Garrett, and then Ricky Grimes (11th Spring Fling, 3rd Jersey) could not escape the attentions of Garrett to cost him a third final appearance of the season.
That means Dick Garrett is in his third straight final after finishing seventh at the Big Apple Smash Up before winning the Lobster Nationals. Joining him are Scott Hutchins, who sits third in the standings with seven finals already to his name, and Hutchins' favourite target John McCrory appearing in his fourth final.

This blog is to share results in my sports replay gaming. All of the games involve pencil, paper, cards and dice; no digital gaming here. Most games are full season replays, but there will also be some fictional competitions thrown in. It's been a while, but I hope that 2017 sees a return of blog activity.

- I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris
