The Minnesota North Stars jumped out to a 3-0 lead, Parise (8) unassisted scoring before Taylor (6) and M Hall (4) got their tallies, but the LA Kings pegged them back with a goal either side of the first intermission through Joyal (16) scoring his fifth powerplay marker of the season, and Menard (5). The North Stars were able to add one more in the third period, Goldsworthy (13), to give them a third win in four games. Los Angeles are winless in four straight and have lost three in a row for the sixth time.
R Hull's (23) unassisted effort at 18:41 of the third period completed the comeback for Chicago to win back-to-back games for the third time this month and are noe three points behind the Red Wings in fourth spot. New York, who are winless in three and seven points adrift of Detroit, had a 2-1 lead after Fleming (9) and Kurtenbach (6) scored in the second period to cancel out Mikita's (25) first frame goal. Mohns (16) tied the game for the Blackhawks in the final period, with T Reid picking up his first point on the assist,.before R Hull nailed his sixth game-winning goal this season.
It's a fifth victory in the last seven games for St Louis with goals from B McCreary (17), a two-point night for McKenney (6) that includes the game-winner, and Arbour (3) with a late empty netter. The Penguins have just three wins in eleven as they let a first period lead slip; Stratton (13) scoring for Pittsburgh on the powerplay.
