About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CDR: 2009 Funny Car Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals Elim #1

SONOMA, Calif. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 1 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual FRAM-Autolite NHRA Nationals:

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 9 R Matt HAGAN Charger 0.040 4.074 307.3
L 8 L John FORCE Mustang 0.109 6.577 221.5

In only his second successful qualification in the last eight events John Force loses to Matt Hagan for the second time this year. The late wheelspin was not a factor for Force as the bad start had already decided the race.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 10 L Robert HIGHT Mustang 0.096 4.043 292.8
L 7 R Bob BODE Impala 0.111 4.857 283.5

In the first meeting between the drivers Robert Hight wins his fifth first-round race of the season; two of the previous four started him on the road to a semifinal place. Bob Bode is still looking for a win after his eighth straight defeat since reaching a semifinal of his own way back in the second event of the season

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 8 R Tim WILKERSON Mustang 0.051 4.704 276.5
L 11 L Justin SCHRIEFER Camaro 0.096 5.448 266.0

Neither driver was really on it in this contest but some adjustment for wheelspin was Schriefer's downfall, leaving Tim Wilkerson to take his twentieth victory in '09.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 12 L Jim HEAD Solara 0.120 4.742 271.0
L 5 R Gary DENSHAM Impala 0.096 5.731 265.5

Both men failed to qualify in the previous event and, after correcting their ways here, met for the first time. A similar story to the previous race but this time a slight mechanical hiccup costing Densham his third race win; Head has now won two of his seven races and qualified in four of the last five events.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 1 R Tony PEDREGON Impala 0.089 4.971 283.5
L 16 L Ashley FORCE-HOOD Mustang 0.120 7.951 198.5

Tony Pedregon hoped to get his championship aspirations back on track by defeating Ashley Force-Hood for the sixth time this season. Force-Hood had to shut it down before the mid point of a race she was trailing in from the start; that is two first round exits in a row for her.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 15 L Bob TASCA III Mustang 0.078 4.036 292.8
L 2 R Mike SMITH Monte Carlo 0.118 9.960 87.8

Another malfunction with the inner workings of a car, this time Mike Smith's, may not have had much effect on the race with Bob Tasca III in fine form in this race and the season, winning at least one race in each of the last nine events.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 4 R Del WORSHAM Solara 0.036 4.049 293.8
L 13 L Mike NEFF Mustang 0.096 9.998 84.5

The bad luck continues with Mike Neff the latest victim of circumstance. Del Worsham will race in his eighth quarterfinal of the year.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 14 L Jeff AREND Solara 0.086 4.489 302.0
L 3 R Ron CAPPS Charger 0.085 5.373 286.5

The series between the two is now tied at 2-2 thanks to Jeff Arend enjoying a clean getaway while Capps was left struggling for traction.

Second Elimination Round Schedule (Asterisk indicates fastest driver in previous round and gets the lane choice)
(1) Tony Pedregon vs  Matt Hagan (9)*
(4)* Del Worsham vs Jim Head (12)
(6) Tim Wilkerson vs Jeff Arend (14)*
(10) Robert Hight vs Bob Tasca III (15)*
