About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CDR: 2009 Funny Car NHRA Northwest Nationals Elim #2-4

KENT, Wash. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 2 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual NHRA Northwest Nationals:

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 2 R John SMITH Monte Carlo 0.037 4.304 302.0
L 7 L Mike SMITH Monte Carlo 0.099 4.251 293.5

The younger Smith brother continues to enjoy his post-qualification debut but he only makes it to the semifinals through a holeshot victory. Mike's start wasn't too shabby but John was away very smartly.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 4 R Tim WILKERSON Mustang 0.086 4.063 297.3
L 5 L Matt HAGAN Charger RED No Time N/A

A second red light of this event allows Tim Wilkerson an easy path into his sixth semifnal of the year and a 2-0 record over the impatient Matt Hagan.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 1 R Del WORSHAM Solara 0.076 4.070 305.3
L 9 L Brian THIEL Monte Carlo 0.103 13.591 34.0

This result was decided very early on when a major shutdown was forced upon Brian Thiel, leaving Del Worsham to cruise into the next round.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 11 R Bob TASCA III Mustang 0.086 4.499 296.0
L 3 L Bob GILBERTSON Stratus 0.094 5.477 279.0

Both drivers have had their share of rivalries this year, but this is the most common for both. This is the first time Bob Tasca III has come out on top in five races, and the third contest between the two in as many events, all in the quarterfinal stage. It was a poor start from Bob Gilbertson that let his opponent get away with the slowest winning time of the round.

Semifinals

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 2 R John SMITH Monte Carlo 0.063 4.571 277.5
L 11 L Bob TASCA III Mustang 0.109 6.320 201.3

John Smith makes the final in his first attempt of the year. Bob Tasca III had wheelspin once past the tree, but he was sluggish off the starting line beforehand.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 4 R Tim WILKERSON Mustang 0.096 4.039 296.8
L 1 L Del WORSHAM Solara 0.085 5.549 276.0

The second semifinal was also a battle between drivers who had yet to meet before today, and it was post-tree problems for the loser that helped decide the outcome. Del Worsham has lost both his semifinal appearances, while Tim Wilkerson is 4-2 at this stage.

Final

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 2 L John SMITH Monte Carlo 0.109 4.870 282.0
L 4 R Tim WILKERSON Mustang 0.082 5.353 286.5

The stars were aligned and his lucky charm was at it's peak and John Smith wins an incredible result. After failing to qualify for thirteen straight events he wins the final by becoming the third driver in Kent to take victory in the left hand lane. Tim Wilkerson is still waiting to take his first event win after four failures at the final hurdle.
