About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CDR: 2009 Funny Car NHRA Midwest Nationals Elim #1

MADISON, Ill. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 1 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 13th annual O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals presented by Castrol:

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 8 L Mike SMITH Monte Carlo 0.113 4.793 294.5
L 9 R Bob BODE Impala 0.119 No Time N/A

Mike Smith's fourth race this year was his first taste of victory in 2009. He was able to cruise home when calamity befell Bob Bode at the tree, sending him out of control and out of the event.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 10 R Ashley FORCE-HOOD Mustang 0.099 4.175 290.8
L 7 L Tim WILKERSON Mustang 0.020 4.590 286.5

Tim Wilkerson could not make his lightning-fast start count as Force-Hood reeled him in at the halfway point, moving away herself through the second half of the race.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 11 R John FORCE Mustang 0.102 4.053 302.3
L 6 L Brian THIEL Monte Carlo 0.086 No Time N/A

Another big moment for one of the drivers when Brian Thiel had a massive blowup leaving John Force uncontested, but his great run had him several lengths ahead before the incident.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 5 L Del WORSHAM Solara 0.027 3.993 312.8
L 12 R Tony PEDRAGON Impala 0.063 6.504 246.5

For the second time in three events Del Worsham has beaten the championship leader in the first round. Tony Pedregon was having all kinds of trouble past the tree, while Worsham had one of the greatest runs of his career.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 1 L Matt HAGAN Charger 0.079 4.481 299.5
L 16 R Crus PEDRAGON Solara 0.105 6.575 227.0

Cruz Pedregon worked the pedal early on but was unable to make up for the wheelspin he encountered, giving Matt Hagan the first result between these two.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 2 L Ron CAPPS Charger 0.093 5.213 310.8
L 15 R Jack BECKMAN Charger 0.123 5.127 292.3

A repeat from the first round meeting in the last event, but it took a holeshot victory for Ron Capps to defeat Beckman this time.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 4 L Bob TASCA III Mustang 0.034 4.008 298.3
L 13 R Robert HIGHT Mustang 0.115 9.255 82.5

Robert Hight must be wishing he could find someone else to race after losing a fourth consecutive time to Tasca III. He started slow, which already left the result decided, and ended up having to shut it right down.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 3 L Bob GILBERTSON Stratus 0.051 4.011 292.8
L 14 R Mike NEFF Mustang 0.121 5.829 292.0

Another clean win, this time for Bob Gilbertson, reversed the result between these two going back to the second event of the season. Mike Neff had mechanical trouble before reaching the line, but his opponent had already claimed the win.

Second Elimination Round Schedule (Asterisk indicates fastest driver in previous round and gets the lane choice)

(2) Ron Capps vs Ashley Force-Hood (10)*
