Already the fifth time these two have raced against one another and Matt Hagan takes the 3-2 advantage on the year. The faster start certainly helped as Ron Capps was a little sluggish at the lights. Hagan has made at least the semifinals for four straight events now.

Mike Neff reaches his second final by taking his revenge on the man who knocked him out of round one at the last event. Bob Gilbertson lost in similar circumstances too as he struggled to really gain momentum and has now lost three of four semifinals.
