This time it was a simple task fro Matt Hagan to win his debut bout against Mike Smith when a huge bang signaled the end of the latter's race.

Four for four in first time meetings and it was the easiest of the quarterfinals when John Force failed to get off the start. Bob Gilbertson did not notice as he stuck on the fastest time of the round.

A slow start and a big engine problem meant that Bob Gilbertson reached the final with ease, going 2-0 in back-to-back events against Force-Hood.

This was to be Tasca III's third final, and the first time Gilbertson has made it past the semis. Some early wheelspin forced Tasca III to hold back just enough to allow his opponent an event win in their first battle against each other.
