About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1913/14 (S22) Game 6: South Australia vs Victoria

South Australia vs Victoria
Adelaide Oval
13th-14th, 16th-17th February 1914

Lineups:
South Australia- ER Mayne, RF Middleton, C Hill, JN Crawford, AG Moyes, CE Pellew, A Smith, HB Willsmore, WD Price, GC Campbell, SH Clutterbuck

Victoria- EV Carroll, RL Park, TJ Matthews, C Kiernan, FA Baring, CB Willis, JM Fitzpatrick, J Ryder, FL Lugton, VJ Souter, W Carkeek

First Innings
An excellent opening partnership for South Australia saw both men reach their half-centuries before the wheels came off. Out of the next nine batsmen only CE Pellew put in a good score of 41, the rest ranged from the duck of C Hill to a score of 14 for GC Campbell.

SA 291
RF Middleton 104; ER Mayne 72
J Ryder 5-75; FL Lugton 4-61

Victoria's reply had the same troubles that South Australia suffered but without the milestone scores. TJ Matthews was forced to retire injured after his short period at the crease, and Victoria fell short of a better score with a pair of wickets often falling back-to-back.

SA 291
VIC 229
FA Baring 49; JM Fitzpatrick 45
HB Willsmore 4-40; WD Price 2-77

Second Innings
Century man RF Middleton managed to add a single run to his career total before sending the ball straight down the throat of mid-wicket, but his opening partner put in another fine score as he and C Hill kept things rolling. CE Pellew could not be relied upon this time to make up for the slack present through much of the order and Victoria had a reachable score  on a slightly tricky pitch.

SA 291 + 247
VIC 229
C Hill 89; ER Mayne 46; AG Moyes 46
VJ Souter 5-71; FL Lugton 3-39

A calamitous start befell Victoria's second innings as they played out the last few overs off day three. Both RL Park, leg before wicket, and C Kiernan, caught in stunning fashion at gully, were done in by the bowling of WD Price. Surviving opener EV Carroll and first innings high-scorer FA Baring then lit the touchpaper and soon had over one hundred runs for the team. Once they fell though wickets tumbled with three men walking off at the 155 mark. A final wicket stand of 115 came closer than anyone expected to defying the odds, but it wasn't to be Victoria's day, or indeed year, as they ended winless through the season.

SA 291 + 247
VIC 229 + 270
VJ Souter 78*; EV Carroll 57; FA Baring 50
WD Price 5-62; JN Crawford 2-75

South Australia win by thirty-nine runs.
