About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1913/14 (S22) Game 1: New South Wales vs South Australia

New South Wales vs South Australia
Sydney Cricket Ground
19th-20th, 22nd-23rd December 1913

Lineups:
New South Wales- C Kelleway, W Bardsley, CG Macartney, VT Trumper, HH Davis, TJE Andrews, EP Barbour, BJ Folkard, RJA Massie, AA Mailey, CG McKew

South Australia- ER Mayne, WL Chamberlain, JN Crawford, DM Steele, AG Moyes, RF Middleton, PD Rundell, HP Kirkwood, CE Pellew, KN Steele, CL Winser

First Innings
South Australia won the toss, decided to bat on a fair wicket, and were all done before the day was through. The openers fell for eleven runs each; a score nearly half the order could only dream of. The only decent partnership of 77 came from RF Middleton, the workhorse of the two, and PD Rundell, but after that it was to be a quick in-and-out for the tail.

SA 188
RF Middleton 63
C Kelleway 4-26; BJ Folkard 3-62

W Bardsley was a very early casualty, walking for a duck, but he was one of only two wickets lost before New South Wales surpassed the South Australian first innings total. A 120 run partnership between surviving opener C Kelleway and VT Trumper made sure of that. Once they had fallen at the 205 mark, the NSW plan came off the rails a little and, surprisingly after their early form, had to settle for a sub-300 score.

SA 188
NSW 284
C Kelleway 110; VT Trumper 56
HP Kirkwood 3-53; WL Chamberlain 3-62

Second Innings
South Australia knew they had a second chance trailing by only 96 runs and they did get off to a slightly better start. Their second innings tally was certainly improved, but the it took the poor tail from the first day to play some brilliant shots and claw them up from 93-7 to 289 all out.

SA 188 + 289
NSW 284
KN Steele 75; CE Pellew 61
C Kelleway 5-60; AA Mailey 3-49

C Kelleway already had a nine-wicket haul to go with his first innings century, and second time around he would become the first victim but not until he passed his fifty and helped the host side win the opening match of the season. South Australia knew they had to get through the top half the order as quick as they could, but there was little to be done.

SA 188 + 289
NSW 284 + 194-2
C Kelleway 68; W Bardsley 52
HP Kirkwood 1-45; JN Crawford 1-71

New South Wales win by eight wickets.
