Victoria vs New South Wales
Melbourne Cricket Ground
1st-4th January 1914
Lineups:
Victoria- EV Carroll, RL Park, FA Baring, TJ Matthews, WW Armstrong, J Ryder, HHG Bracher, W Carkeek, JL McNaughton, WH Cannon, WI Sewart
New South Wales- HL Collins, LA Cody, W Bardsley, C Kelleway, TJE Andrews, BJ Folkward, A Cotter, RJA Massie, CG Macartney, AA Mailey, CG McKew
First Innings
With the pitch threatening to favour the bowlers before too long, Victoria installed New South Wales at the crease. As it was the pitch would not change throughout the match and the visiting side would go out and put in a good score, albeit very inconsistently.
After the early dismissal of LA Cody lbw it was another 149 runs before a second wicket would fall: the other opener HL Collins. After that, for every batsmen who found himself in the zone there were a couple others who had very little joy at all. Despite the problems with over half the lineup registering less than 22 runs, New South Wales would be pleased with the end result.
NSW 462
RJA Massie 113*; W Bardsley 111; HL Collins 81; BJ Folkard 53
J Ryder 3-90; WH Cannon 3-92; WW Armstrong 3-128
After bowling for five complete sessions, the total time at the crease for Victorian batsmen was 47 innings. As they passed the 30 over mark and entered the third day of play Victoria stood at 81-7, relying on any guts and determination from a couple of lower-order batsmen to get into triple figures. RJA Massie led the stellar bowling attack, and New South Wales had a very easy choice to make.

RL Park 26; W Carkeek 23
RJA Massie 5-27; A Cotter 3-32
Second Innings
An early wicket came in the follow-on and a regular drip of outs followed. RJA Massie just missed out on his first ten-wicket haul, and W Carkeek was again called upon from the eighth spot to help bring some respectability to his side as they ultimately fell to a crushing defeat.
NSW 462

RJA Massie 4-84; C Kelleway 3-32
New South Wales win by an innings and 123 runs
This blog is to share results in my sports replay gaming. All of the games involve pencil, paper, cards and dice; no digital gaming here. Most games are full season replays, but there will also be some fictional competitions thrown in. It's been a while, but I hope that 2017 sees a return of blog activity.

- I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris
