Boston jumped out toa 4-0 lead early in the third period to give them back-to-back wins for the first time in eleven games. Williams (12) and Hodge (14) were among the goalscorers for the Bruins as Montreal left it too late, H Richard (7) and Duff (8) scoring for them, to go 3-10-3 on the road.
Chicago pick up their second win in thirteen, goals from R Hull (12) and Mohns (7) enough to beat New York's solo score from Hadfield (7), and the Kings have a second three game losing streak in their last eight games, losing in Minnesota. Los Angeles led 2-1 through Amadio (2) and Menard (2) before the North Stars extended their unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1) with goals from Boudrias (10), Goldsworthy (10), Fitzpatrick (1) and a game winner from Collins (4).
It's another dry spell for Oakland, four winless now, as only Burns (7) could get on the board for the Seals while St Louis win their first in five matches. B McCreary (12) scored a pair and J Roberts had two himself along with a first period fight against K Douglas.
Konik (6) manufactured his own breakaway for the Penguins but Toronto held on for their win, a fourth victory in five game, M Pronovost (3) and a shorthanded goal from Pappin (2) enough to move them above Montreal in the East.
