Montreal's unbeaten run of five games (4-0-1) ends with a loss in Boston. The Bruins took a 2-0 lead before a fight between Lapierre and McKenzie changed the momentum with Lamaire (9) and G Tremblay (11) twice gave the Canadaians a 3-2 lead. Bucyk (13) went on to complete his hat trick, all assisted by Stanfield, including the game winner at 19:29 of the final period.
Minnesota are winless in four and despite a 3-1 first period lead Taylor (3) needed to be on hand to tie the game with Mohns, Schmaultz (3),Stapleton (3) and Mikita (18) scoring four unanswered goals for the Blackhawks.
Bassen earns his first shutout for Pittsburgh to leave Detroit with one win in their last six. Dea (5) twice and W Hicks (3), with Bathgate and McDonald each grabbing two assists, scoring the Penguins goals.
The Kings win just their fourth game in seventeen with Joyal (8) scoring two goals, including the game winner, and an assist with Flett registering two helpers. New York had the lead going into the third period with goals from Neilson (7), R Stewart (5) and Nevin (7).
Finally the Flyers win their seventh in the last nine limiting St Louis to a single goal from B McCreary (8). Hannigan (6) knocked up a hat trick with Sutherland (6), Selby (7) and Gauthier's (2) game winner moving Philadelphia two points ahead of the Blues.
