Seattle Derby - Seattle, WA
Consolation Heat
Jess Yates, Norm Gibson, Chris Henton, Will Murphy, Tom Gariepy, Joe Ramage, Darryl Lozier, Randy Tondreau, Matt Welliver, Sam Harbin, Jamie Eilers, Bobby Gallagher
Jess Yates (8th Arizona) and Sam Harbin (2nd Arizona, 6th Spring Fling) were swiftly disqualified, bringing the total to five for this event, for hits on Bobby Gallagher and Norm Gibson, and Jamie Eilers (2nd Frostbite, 2nd Ides) stalled out in tenth. But the first big exit of the consolation heat came when Chris Henton took revenge on five time finalist Will Murphy for a blindside hit seconds before.
Norm Gibson was ravaged with seven hits, two coming from Harbin and three from Gallagher, to keep him searching for a debut final, and there will not be a sixth straight final for Joe Ramage as Tom Gariepy gives him the final shot while the championship leader was stalled.
Gariepy (T-2nd VDM, 1st Wisconsin, 5th Idaho) will also miss out thanks to Henton's relentless pursuit, hitting the title contender four times. Matt Welliver (11th Frostbite, Arizona, Tampa) was a late favourite for the small pack as he fails to make it back into a final after missing five in a row, and Bobby Gallagher (8th VDM, 3rd Wisconsin) misjudged his blindside hit on Henton that cost him a chance to pick up points.
Chris Henton makes it to his third consecutive final by laying out four hits on Gariepy either side of a battle against Murphy. He is joined by Darryl Lozier (3rd Arizona, 1st Tampa, 4th Ides, 4th Spring Fling) who takes part in his seventh final of the season, a feat only matched by heat three co-winner Will Thompson. Lozier hit six different cars while keeping his on a swivel to avoid pressure.
The final qualifier is Randy Tondreau (6th Tampa) who raches his second final of the season by heaping it on to Jamie Eilers in the early going before stalling for some time, barely re-firing before his time was up.

This blog is to share results in my sports replay gaming. All of the games involve pencil, paper, cards and dice; no digital gaming here. Most games are full season replays, but there will also be some fictional competitions thrown in. It's been a while, but I hope that 2017 sees a return of blog activity.

- I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris
