About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1920/21 (S24) Game 4: Victoria vs New South Wales

Victoria vs New South Wales
Melbourne Cricket Ground
24th, 27th-31st December 1920

Lineups:
Victoria- ER Mayne, AW Lampard, FA Baring, RL Park, WW Armstrong, J Ryder, AE Liddicut, CB Willis, JL Ellis, EA McDonald, H Ironmonger

New South Wales- HL Collins, W Bardsley, CG Macartney, C Kelleway, TJE Andrews, JM Taylor, J Bogle, HSTL Hendry, JM Gregory, WAS Oldfield, AA Mailey

First Innings
New South Wales were dragged through their inconsistencies by a few good batsmen. HL Collins (1) and C Kelleway (0) would have fit in well down at a collapsing tail, but the other opener W Bardsley enjoyed a very good innings along with some in the middle order.

NSW 433
W Bardsley 150; JM Taylor 99; TJE Andrews 79
AE Liddicut 3-92; EA McDonald 3-97; H Ironmonger 3-121

Victoria had their own on-form opener in the shape of AW Lampard. He, and a succession of skilled partners, was instrumental in guiding the team to within 56 runs of their opponents' score before he was trapped lbw. Even without his abilities at the crease, the team surged on to put up more than 200 runs more before they were finally all out.

NSW 433
VIC 581
AW Lampard 185; J Ryder 83; AE Liddicut 81; WW Armstrong 51
JM Gregory 3-126; C Kelleway 3-132

Second Innings
HL Collins improved upon his opening performance, but W Bardsley's second century of the match was much needed as wickets fell rather cheaply until their main man was caught at deep square leg and the J Bogle-HSTL Hendry tag team could keep things moving. AE Liddicut was the main bowling threat, but Victoria's inability to stop the two big scores put the match on a knife edge.

NSW 433 + 557
VIC 581
HSTL Hendry 174; W Bardsley 117; J Bogle 59
AE Liddicut 4-119; J Ryder 2-109

The hosts enjoyed a ripping start to the final innings, losing ER Mayne with 128 runs scored and AW Lampard heading towards another ton. Things then became rather sticky for Victoria as the bowling attack of New South Wales, especially AA Mailey and the later inclusion of HL Collins,.led to a regular fall of wickets. A late order batsmen and a bowler then weathered the storm and did remarkably well to put in the final 137 runs to win the game.

NSW 433 + 557
VIC 581 + 410-8
AW Lampard 104; JL Ellis 85*; EA McDonald 55*; ER Mayne 53
AA Mailey 4-110; HL Collins 3-35

Victoria win by two wickets.
