First Innings
A beautiful day greeted the teams on day one of the new season when New South Wales went to work at the crease. It was not all plain sailing for the sixteen time Sheffield Shield champions, but a pair of centuries made all the difference; especially JG Morgan weathering the storm as all his partners fell down around him.
NSW 447
JG Morgan 148*; H Cranney 103; HSB Love 61
NL Williams 4-85; C Braybrook 2-95
VY Richardson fell in the first over, and no partnership was allowed to reach higher than the 69 provided by A Smith and NL Williams. CD Gray did very well to drag his side over the follow-on line. On the other side, OP Asher took four wickets in a row, taking care of the middle-order.
NSW 447
SA 268
NL Williams 59; CD Gray 52
OP Asher 65; JCLS Wall 3-69
Second Innings
OP Asher's confidence carried over to his second time at the crease, the second New South Wales opener to century in the match, and JG Morgan made another unbeaten century as his side declared close to their first innings total with four wickets to spare. C Braybrook was the biggest threat with the ball; he and NL Williams ending the match with six a piece.
NSW 447 + 442-6 dec.
SA 268
JG Morgan 105*; OP Asher 104; CS Achurch 85; ATE Punch 67
C Braybrook 4-88; NL Williams 2-94
Another half-century from man of the match contender NL Williams would never be enough to make much headway in the mountain South Australia were told to climb. A Smith, AJ Richardson, RJB Townsend, and CD Gray all fell within nine runs of their own fifties under the balanced attack of NSW; OP Asher taking a match-leading total of seven
NSW 447 + 442-6 dec.
SA 268+ 319
NL Williams 53; RJB Townsend 45; CD Gray 45
CS Everett 3-61; OP Asher 3-67
New South Wales win by three-hundred-and-two runs.
This blog is to share results in my sports replay gaming. All of the games involve pencil, paper, cards and dice; no digital gaming here. Most games are full season replays, but there will also be some fictional competitions thrown in. It's been a while, but I hope that 2017 sees a return of blog activity.

- I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris
