About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1921/22 (S25) Game 5: New South Wales vs Victoria

New South Wales vs Victoria
Sydney Cricket Ground
26th-28th, 30th-31st January - 2nd February 1922
Lineups:
New South Wales- HL Collins, W Bardsley, TJE Andrews, HSB Love, ATE Punch, C Kelleway, HSTL Hendry, JD SCott, WAS Oldfield, AA Mailey, JCLS Wall

Victoria- J Ryder, ER Mayne, CB Willis, FA O'Keeffe, HCA Sandford, VS Ransford, AE Liddicut, AW Lampard, AEV Hartkopf, JL Ellis, EA McDonald

First Innings
C Kelleway got ER Mayne to nick one back to the keeper in a rough first inning for New South Wales, and the latter part of the Victorian order provided little help, but those who could, scored big enough. CB Willis and surviving opener broke open the biggest partnership of the innings at 133 runs, and FA O'Keeffe took over from J Ryder to guide the team past 200. Another pair of good scores took them on their way to the big total.

VIC 513
CB Willis 130; VS Ransford 113; HCA Sandford 67; J Ryder 66
AA Mailey 4-150; C Kelleway 3-124

The hosts had their own pair of century-makers to get them towards their opponents total, but there was only a half-century elsewhere with the rest of the order unable to get above C Kelleway's 38. Unlike New South Wales who were busy in the field, Victoria's bowlers did their own work with three batsmen walking lbw and another five after their wickets were smashed.

VIC 513
NSW 468
W Bardsley 120; HSB Love 103
EA McDonald 4-152; AE Liddicut 3-99

Second Innings
CB Willis and J Ryder were unable to reenact their previous milestones, and ER Mayne grabbed a quick single, before AA Mailey took all three of them for 33 runs. The lead bowler also took VS Ransford cheaply, but his fifth wicket was a long time in coming when a FA O'Keeffe shot attempt carried to the slips, 281 runs after Victoria was 33-3. A pair of late half-centuries shot the side past 500 again.

VIC 513 + 549
NSW 468
FA O'Keeffe 161; HCA Sandford 156; JL Ellis 56*; AW Lampard 56
AA Mailey 5-158; JCLS Wall 3-120

Not quite reaching triple-figure scores  this time but five halves gave New South Wales every chance until a calamitous collapse of the tail. Two wickets fell at both the 187 and 270 run marks thanks to a succession of good scores and a third partnership of 164 took the side within touching distance. Things then turned as the pitch had done in recent days, AE Liddicut taking the last three wickets, the dangerous looking HSTL Hendry and a pair of ducks.

VIC 513 + 549
NSW 468 + 524
HSTL Hendry 96; HL Collins 95; W Bardsley 87; JD Scott 78; TJE Andrews 74
AEV Hartkopf 3-92; AE Liddicut 3-97

Victoria win by seventy runs.
