About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

DICE Hockey - NHL 1962-63 Introduction

A long awaited return to hockey is here! Eighteen months ago I began an All-Time Great game using the now defunct Player of the Game Hockey, but, outside of the DICE QP Summit Series replay last month, I have not returned to hockey despite my great love for the sport.

DICE Hockey is from Gen1400 with twelve NHL and WHA seasons available. When deciding on which year to replay I opted for the earliest available: 1962-63. The league consists of the original six teams in a season played Oct-Apr and featuring a grand total of 210 games.

Each team comes with a sizable roster and lineup cards. I was unable to find actual lineups for each game, but the lineup cards are a great aid in keeping things moving without becoming bogged down in daily changes. I observed trades throughout the season and they will also occur in my replay. I decided against injuries, but there are suspensions.I also stuck with the ruleset I began with. There have been changes to the shorthanded rules for example, but I decided against implementing a change, so shorties are very rare.

Each match was played out in around forty minutes on average. 2d10 are used to decide all the action, starting with the opening faceoff. The dice rolls then control the play as you watch a game full of passes, shots, turnovers and penalties. When a shot is taken the numbers are used on the shooters card (player shot) or netminders card (goalie shot) and the result of a rebound is also taken from that card.

In this replay I will keep track of a whole host of stats, keeping track of the league's top five in multiple categories as well as a monthly update on a larger scale.

I hope you will enjoy this as much as I did!
