About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CDR 2009 Elimination #1 - Las Vegas NHRA Nationals

LAS VEGAS - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 1 eliminations in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, Ninth annual NHRA Las Vegas Nationals:

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 16 L Jack WYATT Firebird 0.120 5.445 273.8
L 1 R Terry HADDOCK Stratus 0.083 No Time N/A

A predictable if not disappointing result for the fastest driver in qualifying. Terry Haddock's car gave out very early, leaving Jack Wyatt to take his fourth victory of the season dispite some severe wheelspin; his first in his last eight races.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 9 R Matt HAGAN Charger 0.090 4.026 308.8
L 8 L Del WORSHAM Solara 0.102 5.463 275.0

The first meeting between the two led to a simple win for Matt Hagan, putting him into his thirteenth quarterfinal of 2009. Del Worsham has lost four straight since he appeared in the final of the O'Reilly Super Start Batteries NHRA Fall Nationals and is now below .500 for the year (18-19).

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 4 R Bob TASCA III Mustang 0.083 4.444 302.0
L 13 L Jack BECKMAN Charger 0.087 4.464 286.0

The season series is tied at 1-1 in a very close contest that Bob Tasca III pipped to keep his impressive run of at least one race victory in every round so far. Two-times finalist and winner Jack Beckman is now 11-11 with three consecutive defeats.

W 12 L Bob GILBERTSON Stratus 0.069 4.425 297.5
L 5 R Mike NEFF Mustang 0.122 No Time N/A

This makes three straight wins over Mike Neff and four in all six contests for Bob Gilbertson with his opponent suffering the second big blowup of the day. This ends a run of back to back first race defeats for Gilbertson and gives Neff (11-22) his tenth defeat in his last eleven races.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 2 R Ron CAPPS Charger 0.084 4.010 312.8
L 15 L John FORCE Mustang 0.069 4.129 301.8

This was a fifth loss in seven races for John Force but he was a little unlucky to hit a red hot Ron Capps fresh from his recent runner-up finish at the Virginia NHRA Nationals. After stating out 10-15, Capps has had a record of 10-6.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 7 L Tony PEDREGON Impala 0.086 4.163 301.8
L 10 R Mike SMITH Monte Carlo 0.109 No Time N/A

Another malfunction, another loss for Mike Smith. He now has a 4-16 record. Compare that to the nine time finalist Tony Pedregon (46-16) and it would be no surprise that Pedregon is 2-0 against Mike Smith.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 14 R Brian THIEL Monte Carlo 0.064 4.057 307.8
L 3 L Tim WILKERSON Mustang 0.097 No Time N/A

A second loss on the year to Brian Thiel should not change Tim Wilkersons' championship position of sixth place unless Ron Capps can go all the way. Thiel on the other hand will enter the top fifteen with his sixth win of the year.

W/L # L Driver Car R/T E.T. Speed
W 6 R Ashley FORCE-HOOD Mustang 0.081 4.014 301.3
L 11 L Robert HIGHT Mustang 0.118 4.704 295.0

Two races in three events between these two and the same result both times. Force-Hood is searching for her fourth semi-final race in seven events, while Robert Hight loses at the first race for the eleventh time in twenty-one.

Second Elimination Round Schedule (Asterisk indicates fastest driver in previous round and gets the lane choice)

(4) Bob Tasca III vs Bob Gilbertson (12)*
*(6) Ashley Force-Hood vs Brian Thiel (14)
