LAS VEGAS - LAS VEGAS 2 - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, Ninth annual NHRA Las Vegas Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Things are tight at the top with one qualifying run to go. Ron Capps matches the time of Terry Haddock, but slots into second place with an ever so slightly slower speed. Tim Wilkerson is not far behind in third, niudging Bob Tasca III into foruth place ahead of the sudden appearance of Mike Neff who shoots up from twenty-second.

John Smith is the man who has to make room for that new entrant while the trio of Jeff Arend, Jack Wyatt and John Force are all hanging on thanks to their first times in qualification.
