With the Blackhawks winless in three straight games, Chicago's lead at the top could be down to seven points tomorrow if Montreal defeat the Bruins. Head to head the Rangers have now beaten the Blackhawks twice in Chicago, while the league leaders have the other four contests. This third consecutive win puts New York in a three way tie for third place.
It was Chicago who scored first - Murray Balfour (10) the fourth Blackhawk to hit double figures this season - but the teams went into the interval tied at 1-1, Ingarfield (8) the third highest scorer on the Rangers. The second highest scorer then put New York up one, then two goals in the second period before the man second in the league in goals and points finished it off in the third with his thirteenth powerplay goal.
