In an even, sometimes heated, contest it was a close run thing with the Venezuelan just coming out on top with the judges. The match ebbed one way then flowed another, until the final four rounds where Wilde looked to knock out his opponent after ultimately trailing for much of the night.
A couple of real hard shot from Gonzalez in the seventh couldn't take the tough Welshman to the mat, with Wilde getting in some real tough punches himself in rounds five and nine, also unable to knock down his man. Gonzalez had cuts around both eyes towards the end after a brutal battering in the tenth, but he covered up tight in the final round to hold on to victory.
