The pitch was a bowlers dream throughout this contest, and this was quickly in evidence when Victoria could not reach tea on the first day before losing their final wicket. After an early wicket, Victoria were not looking too bad, but the loss of W Bruce at 125-5 was a real turning point.

Second Innings
Victoria were able to improve upon their previous days' batting, but the bowlers still ruled, taken the away side down to 142-9 from 142-5. A final wicket stand held on, but could it be enough against the batting of New South Wales?

A sudden change in fortunes left the bowlers scratching their heads as they were only able to claim wickets at almost lengthy intervals, especially after the torrent of scalps taken up to this point. New South Wales limp to another unbeaten season, and are the kings of the Sheffield Shield once more.
