Another surprise result in Group A as the lowest ranked boxer in the tournament lays out his opponent, not once, but twice. The first knockdown came in the seventh, and Lynch looked rather fragile after that. He nearly went down early in the tenth, before finally getting caught again before the bell to end the match.
The higher seeded man from L.A was keeping it even throughout, and employed a lot of counter-punching and stick and move strategies. There was limited movement through much of the fight, but a crucial move by the Thai fighter got Lynch into the corner to take him out and get a bye in the first knockout stage of the competition. Lynch heads home with two defeats.
