South Australia vs New South Wales

18th, 20th-24th December 1909
Lineups:
South Australia- ER Mayne, LR Hill, C Hill, DRA Gehrs, GC Campbell, N Claxton, JN Crawford, S Hill, JDA O'Connor, WJ Whitty, AW Wright

First Innings
Another friendly Adelaide pitch mush have looked inviting for the New South Wales skipper, but he elected to bowl first instead. The South Australian tail remained strong in their second match as they were otherwise staring down at a sub-300 score.
SA 435
S Hill 114; N Claxton 76; LR Hill 68; C Hill 55; JDA O'Connor 50
WJ Stack 5-135; LA Minnett 3-103
New South Wales needed some late order heroics themselves from a similar position. Part of the reason was surely the untimely injury to JN Crawford who would be able to play in the second innings.
SA 435
NSW 403
FK Gow 113; LA Minnett 74*; EF Waddy 51
JN Crawford 6-110
Second Innings
A stronger start pushed South Australia into a great position as the three Hill brothers were leading the way throughout the match. This despite the stellar performance from WJ Stack. DRA Gehrs was the only real disappointment as, after his single run in the first innings, he was caught again; this time for a duck.
SA 435 + 515
NSW 403
LR Hill 161; S Hill 75; ER Mayne 67; C Hill 66; WJ Whitty 55*
WJ Stack 7-158
With the bowling attack stepping up their game, New South Wales soon found themselves decimated as the relentless deliveries took four for a duck, and only gave up a pair of half-centuries.
SA 435 + 515
NSW 403 + 238
HL Collins 69; W Bardsley 68
JDA O'Connor 4-58; JN Crawford 4-63
South Australia win by three-hundred-and-nine runs.
This blog is to share results in my sports replay gaming. All of the games involve pencil, paper, cards and dice; no digital gaming here. Most games are full season replays, but there will also be some fictional competitions thrown in. It's been a while, but I hope that 2017 sees a return of blog activity.

- I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris
