About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1908/09 (S17), Game 6: New South Wales vs Victoria

New South Wales vs Victoria
Sydney Cricket Ground23rd, 25th-28th January 1909

Lineups:
New South Wales-W Bardsley, AJY Hopkins, MA Noble, A Cotter, EF Waddy, SE Gregory, CG Macartney, JC Barnes, H Carter, SH Emery, C Kelleway

Victoria- EV Carroll, TIB Horan, VS Ranford, WW Armstrong, PA McAlister, DBM Smith, GR Hazlitt, LP Vernon, FJ Laver, W Carkeek, JV Saunders

First Innings
New South Wales spent the better part of the opening two days compiling a high total despite some inconsistencies in the order. The bowlers had trouble breaking down partnerships through the meat of the order, and the Victorian batsmen would have to work hard in order to make this one competitive.

NSW 545
CG Macartney 137*; SE Gregory 97; EF Waddy 86; A Cotter 76; MA Noble 55
WW Armstrong 3-139

The reply was in trouble immediately,  but the pairing of VS Ransford and PA McAlister held on wonderfully to rack up 199 runs in their partnership. The bottom of the order capitulated and a follow on decision had to be made.

NSW 545
VIC 317
VS Ransford 117; PA McAlister 93
A Cotter 3-98

Second Innings
The follow on was enforced and Victoria started much brighter, although the tailenders failed to put up much more of a fight. Solid, if not spectacular, partnerships held off the New South Wales onslaught as best they could, but their own bowlers would have to bring some real intensity if they were to pull off a shock result.

NSW 545
VIC 317 & 377
TIB Horan 92; PA McAlister 87; GR Hazlitt 69; WW Armstrong 54
JC Barnes 5-106

Two early wickets may have given the visitors some hope, but the ship steadied and New South Wales swept the season to return to champion status.

NSW 545 & 150-3
VIC 317 & 377
MA Noble 69*; EF Waddy 55*
JV Saunders 2-46

New South Wales win by seven wickets.
