Bobby Leiter stepped in to platoon for
Leo Boivin who picked up a suspension in the big loss to
New York and has a two point game including his first NHL goal of the season.
Eddie Johnston did well against an early
Montreal surge, stopping sixteen of the seventeen first period shots directed on goal, and stopped over twenty consecutive shots after the
Canadiens took a 1-0 lead on the powerplay, but this time the
Bruins stood firm on the penalty kill. At the other end of the ice an early goal in each of the second and third periods caught
Jacques Plante napping as he lost his seventeenth game of the year after facing less than thirty shots.
