Lineups-
Victoria- ER Mayne, WM Woodfull, CB Willis, LF Freemantle, J Ryder, JL Ellis, AEV Hartkopf, RL Park, VS Ransford, AE Liddicut, PH Wallace

First Innings
Victoria's fifth wicket partnership of 107 saved the day as AA Mailey dominated with his spin bowling. WM Woodfull fell to the only other bowler to take wickets, AT Gray, for a duck; ER Mayne (22), CB Willis (18) and J Ryder (0) soon followed, and Victoria were 41-4 before the longest partnership formed. RL Park then put in a decent 35 from the eighth spot in the lineup but he became the first of four wickets for AA Mailey to end the innings.
VIC 234
JL Ellis 60; LF Freemantle 51
AA Mailey 7-57; AT Gray 3-61
Victoria also struck early with the ball, taking the wicket of HL Collins and almost taking a rib out of CG Macartney who was forced to leave the innings. New South Wales found their groove much earlier than their opponents had with a partnership of 135. This was followed by JM Taylor, AF Kippax, HSTL Hendry and AT Gray all scoring over 30 before the tail was destroyed in short order to put together a fine lead.
VIC 234
NSW 351
W Bardsley 111; TJE Andrews 67
LF Freemantle 3-58; J Ryder 3-77
Second Innings
The opening partnership of Victoria took the team over 100 but they only had a pair of wickets left soon after passing the side's second century, ending with a valiant single-handed display to get them well over 300. Once the openers were broken up with WM Woodfull caught at extra cover for 47, the wickets of CB Willis (0) and LF Freemantle (3) followed. JL Ellis was unable to reach half his first innings score before the leadership of AEV Hartkopf dragged everyone else along for a ride. The NSW bowling attack had a much tougher time finishing the side off with AA Mailey falling a wicket shy of ten in the match.
VIC 234 + 342
NSW 351
AEV Hartkopf 110*; ER Mayne 63
CR Campling 4-52; AT Gray 2-91
The condition of the pitch had been rapidly falling over the final two days of the match but, like New South Wales before them, Victoria was unable to break down the side very quickly. The openers and TJE Andrews both walked with 52 runs on the board but NSW remained confident and were inspired, with half their wickets remaining and 51 runs still to score, by the performance of CG Macartney playing through his pain.
VIC 234 + 342
NSW 351 + 226-5
JM Taylor 58; CG Macartney 57*
PH Wallace 2-52; AE Liddicut 2-60
New South Wales win by five wickets.
This blog is to share results in my sports replay gaming. All of the games involve pencil, paper, cards and dice; no digital gaming here. Most games are full season replays, but there will also be some fictional competitions thrown in. It's been a while, but I hope that 2017 sees a return of blog activity.

- I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris
