About M.E. myself and I

Eastbourne, East Sussex, United Kingdom
I have been an M.E. sufferer for a long time now, but sports replay gaming is an easy hobby for me to enjoy. Originally from Canvey Island, Essex, I was introduced to replay gaming a few years ago, leading to my first purchase: Cricket World. Most sports I share will be common, but there are some more obscure replays thrown in. Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to say hello! - Chris

CW 1923/24 (S27) Game 6: South Australia vs Victoria

South Australia vs Victoria
Adelaide Oval
15th-16th, 18th-19th February 1924

Lineups-
South Australia- EL Bowley, AJ Richardson, JT Murray, DE Pritchard, PD Rundell, NA Walsh, EGC Wainwright, RJB Townsend, HFT Heath, NL Williams, AM Ambler

Victoria- ER Mayne, WH Ponsford, WM Woodfull, RL Park, JL Keating, CB Willis, AEV Hartkopf, AE Liddicut, JL Ellis, CV Grimmett, PH Wallace

First Innings
A win for Victoria would give them the title this season, while a South Australian victory would result in a unique three-way tie that would have to be decided with quotiant ratings. The home side took it upon themselves to bat first after winning the coin toss, and they lost two wickets for 14 runs each: EL Bowley was out lbw and the same bowler, AE Liddicut who took the first three of the match, had JT Murray nick one to the keeper.

AJ Richardson was the next to go, caught in style at mid wicket, but not before he put in a good score. DE Pritchard partnered him the longest, unlucky not to get his half-century, but only EGC Wainwright (37) and HFT Heath (20) reached double figures from that point on. PH Wallace was really hammering the ball in on the batsmen with four leg before wicket decisions going his way.

SA 239
AJ Richardson 76; DE Pritchard 49
PH Wallace 4-64; AE Liddicut 3-47

Before EGC Wainwright started on his six-wicket haul, WH Ponsford (7) was caught one-handed at slip off HFT Heath. Wainwright took his first scalp - WM Woodfull (25) out clean bowled -and AJ Richardson followed it up, getting RL Park to send a delivery straight to extra cover for a duck, and Victoria were 64-3. Another duck from CB Willis, and a 9 scored from AEV Hartkopf, brought about the partnership of JL  Keating and AE Liddicut, Both went together, Keating at short leg and Liddicut (41) at mid wicket, both off EGC Wainwright, and this was enough to get them alongside South Australia to make it a one inning showdown.

SA 239
VIC 238
JL Keating 80; ER Mayne 48
EGC Wainwright 6-58; AJ Richardson 2-50

Second Innings
Disaster struck South Australia immediately after the restart. PH Wallace took another pair of lbw wickets, AJ Richardson (1) and JT Murray (0). In between, EL Bowley took one to the head forcing him to retire on a single leaving his team 3-3. With PD Rundell moved down the order after his own retirement in the first innings, DE Pritchard was partnered with NA Walsh and that is when the South Australian fireworks began as they put together a 186 run partnership before Pritchard and EGC Wainwright (0) went down. NA Walsh went on to his next milestone and, outside of the unbeaten zero of AM Ambler, the lower order scored 11, 22, 24, and 38 runs; RJB Townsend registering the highest of these.

SA 239 + 311
VIC 238
NA Walsh 104; DE Pritchard 95
PH Wallace 4-62; AE Liddicut 3-92

Limiting the openers to 18 runs each and 17 for WM Woodfull was helpful in South Australia putting their opponents on 76-4. RL Park (37), CB Willis and AEV Hartkopf managed to keep things moving for Victoria but the bowling attack made the most of the lead inherited from their prior batting performance, winning a tight victory, and leaving all teams with two wins and two losses despite JL Keating the lone duck in Victoria's final innings, and PH Wallace (8) the only other batsmen that failed to hit double figures,

SA 239 + 311
VIC 238 + 280
CB Willis 53; AEV hartkopf 46
AJ Richardson 3-61; RJB Townsend 3-76

South Australia wins by thirty-two runs.
