Bob Gilbertson was firmly in the title race through the first thirteen events, winning twenty-four out of thirty-two with three event wins, but since then he has only managed a 12-9 record with a fourth final victory. Del Worsham loses to his opponent in the first round of the second time season and has made it to the semifinals five times, going all the way on two of those occasions, and losing his last five of 2009.
