The second meeting of the season, both in the last three events, goes the way of Ron Capps again as the left lane starts out slow. Capps has won five of his last seven; Hight has gone 12-22 with two semifinal appearances, but only one race win in his final five.

The trend continues to be about the lane choice but Force-Hood wins her sixteenth first round race with a very good time in any case. After wining his first two races in the opening round of the season, Toliver has lost all six contests since then.

Both men struggled with grip as they peddled their way down the track; Mike Neff going 1-1 against Thiel (6-13) in the process for only his second win in twelve.Brian Thiel ends the year 6-13 and is the only driver so far to lose in the right hand lane.

The only meeting between these two was Tim Wilkersons' thirtieth race victory of the year; his sixteenth at the first round. Head only qualified twice in the first ten events but eleven of the next fourteen, ending with a 6-13 race record and a runner-up result at the Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals.

Bob Gilbertson was firmly in the title race through the first thirteen events, winning twenty-four out of thirty-two with three event wins, but since then he has only managed a 12-9 record with a fourth final victory. Del Worsham loses to his opponent in the first round of the second time season and has made it to the semifinals five times, going all the way on two of those occasions, and losing his last five of 2009.
