Ron Murphy's (13) second goal of the game was his fourth game-winner; that's good enough for second on the Blackhawks behind Stan Mikita (33) who added another pair of powerplay goals. Boston was able to keep pace with Chicago in terms of shots through two periods as both sides had ample opportunities to shoot, but penalties and superior finishing, along with the consistent goaltending of Glenn Hall, resulted in a eighth consecutive defeat for the Bruins.
